A Thoughtfully Designed Japandi Home, Elevated with Custom Steel Doors

Every home tells a story, and this project with Steph & Gian is a perfect example of how carefully considered design choices can transform a space.

Inspired by Japandi design, their home embraces warm tones, natural textures and timeless architectural details. Our role was to create custom steel doors that felt like they had always belonged—enhancing the home's character while providing practical, everyday functionality. Inspired by Japandi design, their home embraces warm tones, natural textures and timeless architectural details. Our role was to create custom steel doors that felt like they had always belonged—enhancing the home's character while providing practical, everyday functionality.

A First Impression That Lasts

The entrance to a home sets the tone for everything beyond it.

For this project, we designed and installed a custom exterior steel security door finished in a warm gold powder coat. By opting for a solid panel without glass, Steph & Gian achieved complete privacy while maintaining a refined, understated look that complements the heritage façade.

The result is a front entrance that feels secure, welcoming and perfectly balanced against the home's original brickwork and soft neutral detailing.

Bringing Cohesion Indoors

Inside, the design continues with a custom steel internal door finished in Dulux Talc Satin.

Rather than becoming a feature that competes with the surrounding interiors, the door blends effortlessly into the home's warm, minimalist palette. The soft finish complements the timber flooring, natural stone, textured furnishings and carefully curated styling, creating a seamless transition between spaces.

It's a subtle detail, but one that adds depth, character and architectural interest throughout the home.
